Teaching Philosophy: Teaching and learning are needed not only to manage our life but also to realize our potential as humans. My teaching philosophy as an English teacher is to facilitate learning as a fundamental concept which distinguishes humans from other living beings. It also centers on the following points: 1. Both teachers and students should work together and they are complementary; opposite to the current and dominant view that makes both parties rival to each other. 2. Teachers are role-models and they must have a high level of motivation. Since motivation is contagious, students are highly likely to get motivated and as a result become successful learners. 3. I personally work and endeavor to raise students’ awareness in setting realistic goals both in and outside college. 4. I believe and support student-centered approach and thus promote the idea of self-study and connect the in-class teaching with the hard work of students that is done at home. 5. The ultimate goal of teaching university students is to increase their career opportunities and therefore my students are now familiar with what is required from them as a teacher once they graduate.
